VIDEO - The Lancaster Riding around the runway:
The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is a museum and memorial to the RAF Bomber Command. There is a Lancaster Bomber here, almost air worthy. They are trying to refurbish it to airworthiness, but in the mean time, you can take a taxi ride in it. It will start up, rev its engines and taxi down the runway, onto the grass strip, and ride around a bit. There are currently only two airworthy Lancasters. One is in Canada, and the other in the UK. Those two flew together in 2014. Hopefully this one will join them in the air at some point.

I like that these flying boots were designed with all kinds of escape and evasion equipment inside, PLUS you could cut the top portion of the boot off and you had a simple civilian looking shoe.

The Polish Airforce served valiantly in Britain after their escape from Poland after the German invasion. Many of the pilots were older and more experienced than many of the German pilots, and had little to lose and plenty of reason for revenge. They shot down many German aircraft.
